Genoa, Nev. — Road controls are in effect for Kingsbury Grade and Highway 50 this morning as a winter weather advisory has taken over for the winter storm warning in effect across the Greater Lake Tahoe area. There may be an additional 6-12 inches falling between now and 4 a.m. Tuesday.


A two-foot diameter pipeline across three parcels accessed by Wyatt Lane is proposed for the Henningsen Ditch north of Glenwood Drive is proposed for. Members of the Douglas County Water Conveyance Advisory Committee are also scheduled to hear a request involving calving off two 5-acre parcels from the Anderson Ranch off Centerville west of Highway 88. They meet 4 p.m. in Room 306 of the Minden Inn.


Moana Nursery is seeking building permits to construct six commercial greenhouses on the old Milky Way Dairy off Heybourne Road. They applied just before Thanksgiving, according to county records.


I couldn’t help but dance much of the Parade of Lights route on Saturday night, as we were right behind All About Dance. It was a cold, wet trek from Gardnerville to Minden, but The R-C party bus persevered through the night.


There is an inch of precipitation in my rain gauge this morning since the last time I took a reading on Thursday. That's got some rain and snowmelt in the total.


There were occasional flurries in the Valley on Sunday and the forecast is calling for something similar before 2 p.m. today as the storm pushes east. We could see partly sunny skies and a high temperature near 43 degrees with the wind 5-10 mph southwest in the afternoon.
