On 12/1/2022, the Douglas County Board
of Commissioners ADOPTED the following
ordinance:
ORDINANCE: 2022-1608
TITLE: Ordinance 2022-1608, an Ordinance
enacting a revision and codification of the
general ordinances of Douglas County
by amending Titles 1, 6, 9, 10 and 13 of
Douglas County Code to (1) redesignate
certain vehicle and traffic related criminal
“misdemeanors” as “civil infractions”
consistent with the Assembly Bill 116
enacted in 2021 by the 81st Session of
the Nevada Legislature; (2) define and
establish penalties for civil infractions, (3)
clarify that certain codified “infractions”
constitute “criminal infractions,” and (4)
remove language that is unnecessarily
duplicative of the Nevada Revised Statutes.
The ordinance shall be in full force and effect
on January 1, 2023 and was adopted by the
following vote: AYE: Wes Rice, John Engels,
Mark Gardner, Walt Nowosad, Danny
