Genoa, Nev. — East Fork Fire and Douglas deputies responded to a drowning death off East Valley Road reported at around 9:10 p.m. Monday.

Emergency services responded to vehicle collisions reported at Johnson Lane and Wildhorse Drive at 3:20 p.m. and on Langley in the Ranchos at 5:30 p.m.

I expect there to be a lot of people at the 6 p.m. Minden-Tahoe Airport Town Hall meeting at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center.

If the last session was any indication, attendance at East Fork Fire Protection District’s meeting on its proposed regulations 3-5 p.m. today might be a little light. Three people turned up at last week’s meeting.

Gardnerville Town Board members’ last meeting will see a request for two-story homes in the 190-home Ashland Park, located along Toler Lane north of Chichester Estates. The Town board meets 4:30 p.m. in its offices at 1407 Main St.

Road controls are down to a bit of Highway 50 climbing toward Spooner and Highway 395 between Walker and Bridgeport. If you’re going over the Sierra expect to chain up over the passes.

Expect mostly sunny skies today and a high temperature of 39 degrees. It’s going to get chilly over these clear nights with lows around 13 degrees before the weather returns on Thursday.
