I’ll be home for Christmas
To celebrate the birth
Of the greatest ever given
To mankind on this Earth
I’ll be home for Christmas
To brave our winter’s cold
To keep up with traditions
Passed down to me from old
I’ll be home for Christmas
to decorate with lights
so you can find your way here
on cold and wintry nights.
I’ll be home for Christmas
To cook a Christmas meal
And if you care to join us
A full tummy you will feel.
Yes, I’ll be home for Christmas
And if you’re feeling blue
I’ll open up the door
And gladly welcome you
I’ll be home for Christmas
It will be warm inside
And if your heart is troubled
In me you can confide
I’ll be home for Christmas
To try my best to bring you cheer
And pray that God will bless you
With the happiest New Year.
