Snowy conditions backed up traffic going over Kingsbury on Tuesday morning, not helped by a stalled vehicle.

Douglas County deputies and Nevada State Police troopers tried to clear the road around 10:10 a.m. after issues at Buchanan Road.

Law enforcement was sending traffic over the grade one lane at a time.

There was also a minor collision on Highway 50 near the Douglas County Sheriff’s substation at 9:42 a.m.

Road controls over Kingsbury were implemented just before 7 a.m. as the heavy rain turned to snow.

Traffic cameras showed the highway was mostly clear by 11:15 a.m., though tire tracks were barely visible through the snow.

Chains are required from about halfway up the Valley side to Highway 50 for all but vehicles with four-wheel drive and snow tires.

Similar conditions are in place over Spooner Summit with chains or snow tires required on Highway 28 north of Spooner Junction.
