Genoa, Nev. — Supply chain issues are hitting Douglas County’s weed abatement program. On Thursday commissioners approved an amendment of the contract with Nutrien Ag to buy Pendulum Aqua Cap for $44 a gallon, up from $37.50.
Nutrien Ag spokesman Matt Malarkey said Douglas managed to stockpile more Roundup than most any other outfit in the state. Weed killer prices have shot up over the last year from 20 percent to double and triple.

Evacuations have been lifted for the Airport Fire burning south of Bishop, which was at 4,136 acres and 20 percent contained last night, according to Cal Fire. Satellite mapping indicates no recent hot spots.
