The Carson Valley Art Association has a full calendar scheduled for 2022.
The first meeting of the year was held at the Minden Branch of the Douglas County Public Library Jan. 22 with 20 returning and new members in attendance.
President Carolyn Denning said she and her board are looking forward to an active and art-filled year.
The new place and day, 1-3 p.m. the fourth Saturday of the month was initiated in hope of providing an opportunity for working artists to be able to join the association.
The schedule includes demos or hands-on activities involving block printing, silk painting, felting, paint-outs and much more.
Members will be displaying their art in the Copeland Gallery from April 4 - May 30.
And continuing the the association’s tradition, there will be an art show at the CVIC in Minden in conjunction with Carson Valley Days, June 10-12 and the Annual Scholarship Art Show, also at CVIC, on Nov. 4-6. Both shows will be judged shows.
The art association will meet 1 p.m. Feb. 26 at the library. The featured program will be Nancy Raven sharing her block printing.
The art association has been in Carson Valley for 55 years.
