On 7/7/2022, the Douglas County Board of
Commissioners INTRODUCED the following
ordinance:
ORDINANCE: 2022-1602
TITLE: Ordinance 2022-1602, an ordinance
to amend Title 20 – Appendix B of the
Consolidated Development Code by revising
table 903.2.2 of the International Fire Code
(“IFC”), Section 903.2.4 of the IFC, and
Section 901.8 of the International Building
Code (“IBC”) to provide exemptions in the
East Fork Fire Protection District for certain
residential structures and manufactured
homes from the requirement to install
automatic fire sprinkler systems.
SUMMARY: Ordinance 2022-1602, an
ordinance to amend Title 20 – Appendix B
of the Consolidated Development Code by
revising table 903.2.2 of the International
Fire Code (“IFC”) and Section 903.2.4
of the IFC as well as Section 901.8 of
the International Building Code (“IBC”).
The proposed amendment will provide
exemptions in the East Fork Fire Protection
District for certain residential structures and
manufactured homes from the requirement
to install automatic fire sprinkler systems.
Any construction to replace a residential or
accessory structure due to a loss resulting
from a criminal act or a natural disaster are
exempt from the automatic fire sprinkler
requirement if the property owner provides
an insurance notification affidavit or owner
liability waiver acknowledging that the
requirement to install an automatic fire
sprinkler system has been voluntarily waived
by the owner.
The 2nd Reading of this Ordinance will be
held on 7/20/2022.
A copy of this ordinance is on file in the
Clerk’s Office for public review.
