Carson Valley residents took a moment to wind down on the third Wind Down Wednesday of the year.

“Having an opportunity for families to come out and enjoy this together is amazing,” said Main Street Gardnerville Program Director Jen Nalder.

Heritage Park was filled with the smells of different local food truck eateries, sounds of live music and the chatter of residents gathering.

“It is definitely a family friendly event,” said Mariah and Brenton Dunaj “We have tried a lot of the different types of food here like the taco truck, Valley Eats and the snow cones.”

Wind Down Wednesdays are presented by CV Flyte who is partnering with Main Street Gardnerville.

“We started this business to bring the community together,” said owner Kylie Koerner. “The last two Wind Down Wednesday events that we did have proven that the community wants to come out and support small business.”

Live music was brought to the community by the Cultural Arts Foundation of Douglas County. Moxy Ruckus and Eddie Dimock & Friends performed.

Many food and dessert options were available including Hungry Hearts, Kitchen 1851, Gonuts for Donuts, Valley Eats, Ping Pow Poom, King of Kings, Blanhir Bakery, Grandpa Archies Ice Cream, Cook’d and China Spring Youth Camp.

Wind Down Wednesday is once a month at Heritage park on Aug. 24, Sept. 21 and Oct. 26.
