The Rotary Club of Minden invites all friends of Bill Henderson to participate in the second annual Bill Henderson Memorial Golf Tournament Sept. 9 at Genoa Lakes Golf Club.
Henderson was a longtime resident of Carson Valley and worked as sales manager of Carson Valley Inn & Casino. He was active in our community, both as a member and past-president of the Chamber of Commerce, and past-president of our Rotary Club. He died after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer.
This is the club’s major fundraiser for 2022, replacing the Beast Feast, with the goal of supporting Carson Valley community groups and nonprofits who focus on “children-at-risk.”
Among the programs supported by this year’s golf tournament are Douglas County schools, Project Santa Claus, Boys and Girls Club of Carson Valley, and many, many more.
“The success of the golf tournament and our efforts here will reduce hardships for children-at-risk,” stated Rotary President Marsha Leeg. “All proceeds will be put to work right here in the Carson Valley.”
The tournament is organized as a shotgun start (four-player teams) with tee time of 10 a.m. Cost is $150 per player, which includes green fees, cart fees, lunch, and a fun-filled reception at conclusion of play. Those not golfing are welcome to join us at the Awards Reception (cost $30 per person). Registration forms are available at billhendersonmemorialgolf.org
"The Rotary Club of Minden is excited to present the 2nd annual Bill Henderson Memorial Golf Tournament to continue the club’s community service and support of Carson Valley," members said. "Help make this another Carson Valley tradition by signing up today. Those who aren’t golfers are encouraged to be sponsors."
