Barton Women’s Health announced new changes designed to increase regional access to healthcare and improve the patient experience. Now called Barton Obstetrics & Gynecology, they have opened a new location to better serve the Carson Valley and welcomed two physicians.

Barton welcomes obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Elisabeth Nigrini and returning OB/GYN Dr. Megan Jewell to its network of care providers. Specializing in complete gynecological care and labor and delivery services, Nigrini and Jewell are now accepting new patients at Barton OB/GYN.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Nigrini to our robust and compassionate team of OB/GYN providers as our OB/GYN department undergoes exciting expansion and modifications,” said Barton Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Matthew Wonnacott. “Together, this team, along with the opportunities provided by our new Nevada location, expands access to care and the ability to serve the health needs in the region.”

Nigrini joins Barton most recently from Vermont, where she led the OB/GYN and Midwifery Clinic and addressed a variety of issues and conditions, from menstruation management and pregnancy to endometrial cancer.

She studied medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Nigrini is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. When she’s not practicing medicine, Nigrini enjoys skiing and hiking with her family, including three daughters and their labradoodle.

She joins Dr. Clare Rudolph, Dr. Amanda Weavil, and Dr. Megan Jewell at Barton OB/GYN. Medical offices are located at 897 Ironwood Drive in Minden, and at 2175 South Ave. in South Lake Tahoe.

New patients are welcome.

"By changing Barton Women’s Health to Barton OB/GYN, we provide clarity and differentiate services offered through this service line. OB/GYN offers obstetrical services, like prenatal and postnatal care and labor and delivery including vaginal birth after cesarean, as well as comprehensive gynecological services, such as routine annual exams/pap smears and menopausal management, family planning, and infertility services,” said Barton Obstetrics and Gynecology Medical Director Rudolph. “In addition to this name being a more inclusive reference for all, we aim to connect patients with the proper provider for their individual care.”
