Firefighting helicopters have made at least a half dozen drops on the blaze which was reported at 2-3 acres by the Sierra Front Wildfire Cooperators web site.

Residents of Trail and Holden Court were advised to evacuate, as were some residents of southern Genoa Lakes after it appeared the fire would jump Jacks Valley Road.

A hand crew arrived on scene to help mop up the fire.
The fire was first reported at around 2:40 p.m.
Firefighters from across the East Fork District responded to the fire, which was reported to be one acre in heavy brush.

With 18 mph west winds, homes along Centennial could be threatened.
Jacks Valley Road was closed as traffic was limited going on Genoa Lane from Highway 395.
People are asked to avoid the area while firefighters battle the blaze.
Personnel are going door to door to alert residents to the danger. The county also issued a Reverse 911 call.
This is an ongoing story.
