Genoa, Nev. — Johnson Lane residents are meeting with the Bureau of Land Management and the county on Wednesday morning to discuss the Painted Rock Mine project. If you see a procession led by official vehicles, that’s what’s happening.


A woman was injured in an off-road accident near Pinenut Creek and Buffalo Canyon roads that was reported around 7:30 p.m. Monday. It was a project getting emergency responders to her.


It’s meeting-palooza today with the Library Board of Trustees, at 10 a.m. the Committee on Health at 1 p.m. and the Audit Committee at 2:30 p.m. The library trustees will discuss hosting a meet and greet with new Librarian Tim DeGhelder. We had a very short parade down Highway 395 late Monday afternoon with two law enforcement vehicles escorting a wid-ish load south through town. It was too wide for the lane, but not wide enough to take up the whole road.


NV Energy is rebuilding its transmission line from Carson City to Glenbrook that might cause some traffic delays on Highway 50 at Spooner Summit at some point over the next while. They will be using helicopters for a lot of the work.


Monday was the hottest day so far in 2022 with 95 degrees recorded at Minden-Tahoe Airport and 94 degrees in Minden proper. The record for Monday is 104 degrees set in 2006.


A lake wind advisory goes into effect 1-9 p.m. today with a possibility of 2-3-foot waves on Lake Tahoe. Maybe save the boating for later in the week. There’s another cool spell in the cards with 78 degrees forecast for July Fourth. We’ll see how that shakes out.



Expect breezy condition in the Valley with 15-20 mph southwest winds gusting up to 30 mph. The wind will put a slight dent in today’s high, which is forecast to hit 91 degrees.
