INITIAL STORY
A Fallon man charged with kidnapping will appear in court this week in Lyon County.
Troy Driver, 41, was taken into custody on Friday as a suspect in the March 12 disappearance of Naomi Irion of Fernley.
Lyon County District Attorney Stephen Rye said Monday that Driver will appear remotely from Fernley, where he’s currently being held. Eventually, Rye said Driver will be transferred to Yerington to appear in District Court.
Rye said Driver’s arrest sheet showed a bail of $750,000. He was arrested last week in Reno. A warrant was issued for law enforcement to search his residence.
"We have located the truck in question and it has been impounded and taken into evidence," the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release. "This is still a very active investigation, and more information will be released as it becomes available. Naomi has still not been located and we are continuing to search for her and information."
Churchill County Sheriff Richard Hickox said his agency assisted the LCSO and the Federal Bureau of Investigations in the service of a search and seizure warrant.
“During this time a portion of Alcorn Road was blocked off to through traffic for the safety of the public and the law enforcement officers serving the warrant,” Hickox said in a Facebook posting.
The LCSO further stated law enforcement is “still actively searching for Naomi Irion,” adding a pickup possibly involved with the case has been impounded.
The release said additional information would be available as soon as possible.
Irion, 18, went missing from the Walmart in Fernley on March 12.
Her vehicle was found March 15 at the industrial park in Fernley. Deputies say evidence found inside the car suggests Irion’s disappearance was the result of a crime.
Irion is described as 5′11″ with dyed black hair. Her family said her eyes are green, but one also has brown in it. She was last need about 5 a.m. on March 12.
