Genoa, Nev. — Douglas County’s judiciary is hosting this year’s statewide Judicial Leadership Summit at Stateline starting Tuesday and lasting through the week. Douglas hosts the summit every four years, but there was that coronavirus outbreak that delayed a lot of things.

Single lane road controls are in effect on Kingsbury Grade starting today as the state replaces guardrails and drainage berms. It just seems like just 10 days ago that chain controls were in effect on the highway connecting Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe.

Moana Nursery is going before the Water Conveyance Advisory Committee 4 p.m. Thursday with its plans for a commercial operation off Heybourne Road on the former Milky Way Dairy. They meet in person on the third story of the Minden Inn, and the only streaming is the water flowing through Carson Valley’s ditches.

The Airport Advisory Committee will be hearing updates on the Sports Aviation Foundation and activities meets 5:30 p.m. at the Civil Air Patrol Building. They do stream. You can find out how to follow along by visiting douglascountynv.gov and clicking agendas and meetings.

Genoa’s Western Heritage Festival during the day was well attended on Saturday. With both concerts sold out I think organizers may justly call it a success.

Congratulations to Mr. DHS Grady Frensdorff who was crowned on Friday at the CVIC Hall in Minden after return of the annual fundraiser for a Safe Graduation. We’re in the home stretch of the spring semester, with school letting out for summer on June 2.

A wind advisory picks up at 11 a.m. today though 8 p.m. with 20-30 mph west winds, gusting to 55 mph, and faster in wind prone areas. The wind will be blowing 100 mph over the Sierra ridges and waves of 2-4 feet are expected on Lake Tahoe. Outages are possible, so save often.

Besides the wind, expect mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 68 degrees. The low tonight is supposed to dip down to 31 degrees. The high temperature is supposed to hit 80 degrees by mid-week.
