Belly dancing and witty humor wowed the audience during Douglas High School’s Mr. DHS pageant Friday and helped raise thousands of dollars for the class of 2022’s Safe and Sober Grad Night.
The Mr. DHS pageant has been a Douglas High School tradition since 2007 to help raise funds for the school’s Safe and Sober Grad Night. During the event boys compete for the title while showing off their dance moves, best pick-up line and talents.
Douglas High School Activities Director Karen Lamb said Friday’s show was the first pageant to return to the stage after the Coronavirus put the event on a two-year hiatus.
“DHS leadership worked so hard to create a night that was entertaining, funny and memorable, “said Lamb. “We are so thankful for the support from the DHS staff and administration and the community for their support and donations.”
Mr. Congeniality went to Noah Morris.
“His fellow contestants recognized his spirit that made every part of preparing for the event fun,” said Lamb.
Grady Frensdorff was crowned Mr. DHS who wowed the crowd with his belly dancing and humor, said Lamb.
Lamb said each of the 13 contestants brought their own personalities and talent for a successful show.
“They were incredible,” she said. “They kept the crowd laughing the entire night with their dance skills, talents and personalities.”
