With 140 team points, Douglas High School took second on the girls’ side of their home track meet – the Big George Invitational.
Jessica James won all four events she competed in, taking the 100, 200, long jump and 4x100 relay.
In the 100-meter dash, James set a personal record with a time of 12.47. Freshman Bliss Moody was second in the 100 in 12.88.
In the 200, James crossed the line in 26.60, besting her sister Julianne by 59-hundreths of a second. Julianne finished the 100 and 200 in third place.
The 4x100 relay for the Tigers was run by the two James’s along with Moody and Kaylee Bradford as the foursome completed the event in 50.84.
Sophie Marchut took second in the shot put with a PR of 34 feet, four inches and was third in the discus, tossing another PR of 105–4.
In the high jump, Bliss Moody took second place with a clearance of 5–2.
Carissa Bilderback was third in the pole vault, leaping 10 feet, six inches. Bilderback won the triple jump with a mark of 33–9.5.
Tiger boys fourth in home meet
Douglas boys’ relay team was just as impressive Saturday, winning the 4x200 relay and taking second in the 4x100 and 4x400.
In the 4x200, AJ Thurston, Isiah Middaugh, Grady Frensdorff and Dakota Jones won the team event in 1:32.17.
The same foursome took second in the 4x1 in 44.24.
In the 4x400, Thurston, Frensdorff, Joshua Nelson and Rock Gignac were second across the line in 3:38.62.
Connor Winter tossed a personal record in the discus of 115–1.
Gignac was third in the long jump in 19–7.5 while taking fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 38–4.5, setting a season record.
Douglas finished fourth in the team standings with 78 points, behind Carson (104), Reed (106) and Galena (153).

Douglas swimming beats Reed in final home meet
Both the Tiger boys and girls swim teams picked up impressive wins over the Reed Raiders in Douglas’ final home meet of the season Saturday.
On the boys’ side, the Tigers won 160-93 while the girls took care of the Raiders 176-79.
The Douglas boys won all but three events at the Carson Valley Swim Center Saturday.
Brandon Britting finished the 200-meter freestyle in 2:24.30, taking home first place. He was also third in the 500 free.
Britting was a part of the winning 200-meter relay team, including Treyson Ballingham, Calvin Stevenson and Cooper Yturbide.
Matthew Beam and Jesse LoPresto won the 200 individual medley and 100 fly, respectively.
Stevenson took the top spot in the 100-meter backstroke (58.61) as well.
Allen Baker scored a 222 in the boys’ 1-meter dive.
For the Tiger girls, Kiera Duffy swam the quickest time in the 50 free in 27.18.
Barrett Lee won the 100 free for the tigers while Duffy won the 500 freestyle.
Sofia DeLange grabbed the wall first in the 100-meter back stroke, winning in a time of 1:06.36.
Helena Goss was first for the Tigers in the 100 fly in 1:05.59.
DeLange, Goss, Lee and Duffy won the 200 medley relay while DeLange, Duffy, Lee and Cammie Jahreis were first in the 200 freestyle relay.
