East Fork hosts artist at Wine Walk

Fine artist Joyce Pike will be conducting a demonstration at the East Fork Gallery during Thursday’s first Wine Walk of the season.

 

For the first Thursday Wine Walk this year, East Fork Gallery will feature artist Joyce Pike demonstrating a how to paint a live model portrait. 

Sponsored by Main St. Gardnerville, the Wine Walk is 4:30-7:30 p.m. May 19 in downtown Gardnerville.

Tickets are $20 for new participants, $15 for returning participants. They are available at Main Street Station in the Gardnerville S-Curve or Big Daddy’s Bikes and Brews on the west end of town.

Pike is listed in many major art publications and directories such as: “Who’s Who in American Art,” “World’s Who of Women,” and “The National Biographic Society.”

She is a master signature member of Oil Painters of America and emeritus member of Women Artist of the American West.

Pike has exhibited her work across the United States, andhas had several one-woman shows, taught at Los Angeles Valley College, given workshops in Europe, Mexico, and throughout the United States, and authored several art books.

Her paintings have been displayed in the following museums:  

Museum of Singapore, China; Museum of Art, Elmira, N.Y.; Museum of Art, Palm Springs, Calif.; Elverhoj Museum, Solvang, Calif.; and Bowers Museum, Santa Ana, Calif.

“After having a successful career in fine arts, Joyce is enjoying a lifelong dream of painting on porcelain,” gallery officials said. “Her beautiful paintings on porcelain include floral, fish, animals, landscapes, and seascapes.”
