Genoa, Nev. — It appears the question of whether a segment of Muller Lane Parkway is built hinges on whether Monterra developer Mike Pegram has to build two or four lanes. County commissioners approved sending a notice of breach of a development agreement on Thursday to Pegram.

The county plans to start their two-lane segment of the Parkway across Park Ranch lands in April and that’s the issue for Pegram, who doesn’t want to build four lanes if the county’s only building two, according to what I heard.

County commissioners are scheduled to canvass election results 4 p.m. today. The final turnout was 71.82 percent of the county’s 40,737 voters, or 29,256. That’s one vote off of the results released on Wednesday.

The Lions silver See’s Candy trailer will be parked at Frontier Communications starting Saturday and continuing every day but Thanksgiving.

Magicians are expected to materialize at the Douglas County Public Library’s Minden Branch 5 p.m. today as part of the eighth annual Spellbinders International Festival of Magic. They’re apparently making the rounds with 16 shows around Western Nevaa over the weekend.

The Town of Genoa will be hosting an effort to make trash and weeds disappear starting 8 a.m. Saturday. Volunteers are asked to gather in front of the Town Hall.

It sounds like Thanksgiving week is going to be nice, dang it. There might be a little something on Tuesday, but any active weather appears to be delayed until the end of November or the beginning of December, forecasters said this morning.

Expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 39 degrees and the wind out of the northwest at 5-10 mph. It’s going to be a mild, if chilly weekend.
