Genoa, Nev. — A deceased man found in a crawl space of a Genoa Lakes home on Nov. 21 has been identified as Wesley Daniel Weigand, 36. The exact cause of death is still under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, but officials say it doesn’t appear to be criminal in nature.


The Vacation Home Rental Advisory Board will be working on the VHR code at its meeting 1 p.m. today at Kahle Community Center in Stateline. They will also review the permit of a Tier 3 on Kent Avenue in Zephyr Cove.


County commissioners and members of the audit panel will review the county’s audit and annual comprehensive financial report 2 p.m. today at the Douglas County Courthouse in Minden.


A public review of the new East Fork Fire Protection District fire regulations is 3-5 p.m. today at the district offices at 1694 County Road in Minden. The session is designed for developers and builders, but anyone can attend.


If you’re in the vicinity of Library Lane for the fire meeting, the Washoe Tribe and the Douglas County Public Library are having a night of cultural sharing 5:30 p.m. today at the Minden Branch meeting room. Information, library.douglascountynv.gov or 775-782-9841.


Today will be a nice day to put up Christmas decorations just in time to have them blow back down on Thursday. The forecast calls for a change in the weather after midnight tonight with a wind and winter weather advisory issued for Thursday.


Expect mostly sunny skies and a high temperatures of 52 degrees today with the breeze out of the southwest at 5-10 mph. The wind will pick up a bit to 10-15 mph with gusts of 20 mph around dinnertime.
