A couple allegedly found in possession of around two dozen of other people’s credit cards are scheduled to appear in East Fork Justice Court on Friday.

Deputies checking on the expired registration for a gray Lexus parked at the Gardnerville Dottie’s on Sunday found that its owner, Dawn Michelle Kuskie, 38, was being sought on an active warrant from Nevada Parole and Probation.

Kuskie walked her dog around a corner at that moment and was taken into custody after deputies confirmed her identity.

Jeffrey Alan Williams, 40, got out of the passenger’s seat and identified himself as a 25-year-old with green eyes. Williams asked to check on the dog, and a deputy saw him take his ID out of his wallet and throw it under the car.

Upon retrieving it, deputies learned that Williams had a warrant for nine offenses in Clark County.

A search of the vehicle turned up a small amount of methamphetamine and a large number of credit cards and IDs belonging to people other than the couple.

Kuskie told deputies they belonged to roommates, who would give them to her.

Investigators were able to contact one of the people, who told them the mailbox at her apartment building was broken into last year. Kuskie and Williams allegedly lived in the same building.

• A California woman admitted to a count of possession of a credit card without the owner’s permission on Monday.

Tori Jonnyse Bailey, 34, faces up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine at her Nov. 21 sentencing.

Bailey was arrested on Feb. 27 at Lake Tahoe with seven credit cards belonging to someone else.

Deputies were called to a hotel after Bailey allegedly deployed pepper spray during an argument resulting in a domestic violence charge, which was scheduled to be heard on Tuesday.

She was released and then didn’t return to Tahoe Township Justice Court until she was extradited from Southern California, arriving back in Douglas on Sept. 17.

Bailey was ordered to remain in custody until her sentencing.
