Hollisters celebrate 60th anniversary

Gim and Joyce Hollister celebrated their 60th anniversary at a family party Oct. 8 hosted by their children and granddaughter. The couple was married in 1962 in Corvallis, Ore., and have lived in Genoa since then.

Ms. Hollister worked for The Record-Courier from 1976 to 2001 and finished her career in publications at Nevada Magazine in 2008. Mr. Hollister was a rancher and heavy equipment operator.

The celebration was held on the deck of daughter Jennifer Hollister and her husband; helping with the party were daughter Heather Hollister and her wife Cecilia Maglinao; friend Shana Rhinehart; granddaughter Anginette VanGelderen and her husband Jon; and niece-in-law Janine Blanchard.

Among the guests were family members Geoff de Runtz and Rod and Phipps Blanchard of Genoa, Maggie Marshall of Sacramento, and Mrs. Hollister’s former R-C colleagues Sheila Gardner of Gardnerville and Linda Hiller of Jacks Valley.
