Genoa, Nev. — I’ve got a boatload of letters in the hopper this morning and I expect I’ll see a few more before the noon deadline. We’re going to focus on elections, so if you’ve got a letter that’s not directly related, it will almost certainly wait until next week.

Early in-person voting starts Saturday morning at the courthouse and the senior center. Ballots mailed out by the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office on Oct. 7 should have arrived by now. If you don’t have yours and should have, visit www.RegisterToVote.NV.gov

I checked the site this morning and it’s working. The General Election Guide is publishing on Wednesday.

The R-C crew is scattered to the four winds today. I’ll open the office this afternoon at some point, but sentencing for Matthew Premo is this afternoon, so it'll likely be later than earlier. You can always reach out to me at the contact info below.

We are at one month since we’ve seen any measurable precipitation in Minden. Expect at least another five days without any rain as the high pressure system continues to bring temperatures around 10 degrees above average and blocks any storms from the region.

That might change this weekend with a slight chance of rain forecast on Saturday and the low finally forecast to dip below freezing. This week might be a good time to cover or bring inside any plants you want to keep and to break down the watering systems, assuming the forecast holds.

For today, expect sunny skies and a high around 78 degrees. If there’s any wind it will be light out of the southeast. Tonight’s low is expected to drop to 39 degrees.
