I got word on Saturday that KTHX architect Bruce Van Dyke has gone to the big radio station in the sky. Van Dyke started what would be The X, a real life WKRP, in 1990 and several of us followed it around the dial for 30 years before it changed formats last year.
Forecasters have issued a flash flood watch for the Mosquito Fire through Tuesday evening. There’s a band of moisture buzz-sawing into Western Nevada from the south that appears to be breaking up as it arrives over the mountains into Douglas before it reforms further north. It will be tonight before the chance of showers increases in Carson Valley.
There’s a good chance we’ll see some rain over the next few days, though the totals aren’t going to be anywhere near August’s deluge.
Forecasters say showers are likely in the Valley with thunderstorms possible after 5 p.m. We might also see some sky today with the high temperature at 64 degrees and a light breeze picking up out of the northwest at 5 mph this afternoon.
