Testa Motorsports raised more than $15,000 during a fundraiser event for Casey and Larry Braun last week.

The Braun’s Foothill home was red-tagged after an Aug. 4 flood caused damage to their home.

Casey said she and Larry have been staying with friends while their home of 18 years is cleaned up.

“We’re getting back on track,” said Casey. “We just want to thank the community. Everyone has been wonderful.”

On Thursday, National Weather Service Meteorologist Chris Smallcomb said 5-6 inches of rain fell in Fay Canyon which sent a debris flow into the back of

the Braun’s home ended in a mudslide that buried their fifth-wheel, most of their landscape and silt and rock broke through a side door.

Casey said their insurance will not cover the damage.

“The amount of people and friends who have come together to help us has been overwhelming, we really can’t express our gratitude enough,” said Casey.

Testa Motorsports owners Jackie and Rob Taylor said the shop hosts fundraisers once a year for someone in need in the community.

“Being a resident in Carson Valley, this is what we do; help those in need,” said Jackie. “It’s the best part of our community.”

Testa Motorsports is a motorcycle-motorsports shop in Minden offering service repair and parts and accessories for all off-road vehicles including watercraft, snowmobiles, street bikes and dirt bikes.
