Carson Valley Medical Center welcomes Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Ida Redican to its Ironwood Primary Care practice.

Redican is accepting patients in family practice in CVMC’s newly remodeled clinic located at 897 Ironwood Drive in Minden.

As a nurse practitioner, Redican will provide primary, acute, chronic and specialty care to patients of all ages.

Redican has a wide range of clinical experience, spending nine years as a medical-surgical nurse and seven years with a surgical group primarily focused on eye surgeries. Throughout the years, Redican also served as a charge nurse and a proctor, training many nurses.

Redican completed her graduate school clinical requirements in the Carson Valley with fellow CVMC nurse practitioner, APRN James Gocke. During that time, she spent significant time with patients who were experiencing big changes in their lives, including retirement or loss.

“It’s an honor to be part of those stages in life to help people through major transitions,” she said. “It allows me to connect on a more personal level.”

Redican, who has lived in Carson City for most of her life, said she loves that patients in Carson Valley are interested in healthy living and preventive care.

“Having health-minded patients is refreshing,” she said. “I went into nursing to help prevent bad health and promote good habits.”

Rejoicing in reconnecting with family and friends following long periods apart during the COVID-19 pandemic, Redican said she is spending time with her family hiking, camping and traveling to the Oregon coast.

Having completed multiple marathons and Iron Girl competitions, it’s safe to say she is leading by example.
