A man who used a bomb to kill someone in 2007 is the subject of a manhunt in Southern Nevada after he escaped from  Southern Desert Correctional Center outside of Las Vegas over the weekend.
Gov. Steve Sisolak issued an order to conduct an investigation after discovering the inmate is believed to have gone missing Friday night but escape procedures were not enacted until Tuesday.
“This kind of security lapse cannot be permitted and those responsible will be held accountable,” he said.
Porfirio Duarte-Herrera, 42, from Nicaragua, was convicted in 2010 of using a bomb in 2007 to kill one person at the Luxor on the Las Vegas Strip, according to the Associated Press.
The state Department of Corrections said in a news release Tuesday afternoon that search teams are looking for Duarte-Herrera.
