Genoa, Nev. — A new tier system didn’t survive Monday’s vacation home rental ordinance meeting. Commissioners met for a half-dozen hours at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino going through the major changes proposed in the ordinance.
Douglas County School Board trustees are scheduled to discuss their $65.8 million tentative budget 4 p.m. today. The district is using $4.1 million of it’s $6.77 million in unreserved ending balance, according to the budget posted online.
The school district appears to have agreements with all of its associations up for approval by school board trustees. The board meets at Whittell High School today. The agreements include a 2-percent raise, and the district will cover a 3.75-percent raise in PERS coming July 1.
Planning commissioners will discuss a request to allow a smaller setback for a residence at Lake Tahoe, and work on their bylaws at their 1 p.m. meeting at the Douglas County Courthouse in Minden.
Parks & Recreation Advisory Board members will discuss the update to the Trails Master Plan, which is 20 years old now. The board meets 6 p.m. at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center in Gardnerville.
