The annual Business Showcase will take over the gym at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center on Thursday.

Hosted by the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Showcase features organizations and businesses and is an opportunity for new residents to learn what services are available here.

Showcase featured sponsor is Carson Valley Health, along with Park Ranch, Tahoe Production House, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County and The Record-Courier.

“We have a great line up of businesses again this year to open their products and services to the community,” Executive Director Alicia Main said. “It’s always great to stop by those who have been in the Valley for quite some time and see the new and innovative things they have to offer.”

Participants have plenty of swag handy for the event, but the food is the real star of the event, with several eateries of various kinds.

This year, Sierra Chef, Bella Vita Bistro and Catering and the Chocolate Shoppe are among the food purveyors.

“We also have some new businesses this year to bring a fresh face to the community,” Main said. “We can’t thank our sponsors enough, Carson Valley Health, Park Ranch, Douglas County, Tahoe Production House, Maxsip Telecom, and Partnership Douglas County for helping put this on and make this opportunity available to our members. We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday.”

Agencies include East Fork Fire Protection District, along with the Sheriff’s Office, Carson Valley Community Food Closet,

The Showcase is 3-6 p.m. and admission is free. There will be food tastings, promotions, raffle prizes and a free drawing for a grand prize.
