The National Weather Service issued a flood watch starting Thursday and lasting through the weekend’s warm spell. The East Fork at Horseshoe Bend looks like it’s slowing down a bit from the forecast, but whatever reprieve that might offer is definitely temporary.

The reason the river slowed down is that the temperature dropped to around freezing in places this morning, which is like turning a very slow tap. Today expect sunny skies and a high temperature near 68 degrees. The wind will start the day out of the north at 5-10 mph and then shift west later this morning.
