Organizers reported 630 cards were distributed to participants in Hot August Nights annual Poker Run stop in Minden on Thursday.
An estimated 200 classic vehicles took a turn through the Douglas County seat, aided by members of the Valley Cruisers and Tahoe-Douglas Elks.
Those cars brought 371 people to town between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The Battle Born Food Truck was providing lunch for visitors, along with Minden’s several restaurants.
Things were a little slow starting up, but once the engine kicked in there were lots of classic cars to see.
There are 5,500 classic vehicles registered in the event to participate in the Poker Run.
Organizers say the event brings nearly a half-million visitors to Reno and Western Nevada.
On Thursday night, the National Automobile Museum conducted its American Graffiti 50th Year Anniversary Party featuring live music, dancing and more.
Show and shines will be the big events today in downtown Reno and the Grand Sierra Resort with awards presented on Sunday morning under the Reno Arch to followed at 10 a.m. by the Hot August Nights Grand Finale Parade in downtown Reno.
With a year-round staff of six, Hot August Nights has more than 400 volunteers.
