NOTICE OF HEARING ON INTENTION
TO AUTHORIZE THE ISSUANCE OF
MEDIUM-TERM OBLIGATIONS BY
DOUGLAS COUNTY, NEVADA
NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners (the “Board”) of the Douglas County, Nevada (the “County”), will hold a public hearing at a regular meeting to be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the hour of 10:00 a.m. or as soon thereafter as is practicable, in the Historic Courthouse, 1616 Eighth Street, Minden, Nevada, to act upon a resolution authorizing the issuance of medium-term obligations of the County, in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $14,000,000 in order to finance all or a portion of the cost of a Judicial Center.
The medium-term obligations are not proposed to be repaid in whole or in part by the levy of a tax which is exempt from the limitations on ad valorem taxes, but are anticipated to be repaid from other legally available funds of the County, including, without limitation, monies in the County’s Ad Valorem Capital Projects Fund in the estimated annual amount of $1,770,625 for a period of not more than 10 years.
The form of the resolution authorizing such medium-term obligations, to be considered by the Board after such hearing, and other information concerning such medium-term obligations and the purpose for which they are proposed to be used, may be examined in the office of the County Clerk/Treasurer at her office at 1616 Eighth Street, Minden, NV 89423. Prior to the hearing, written comments may be filed with the County Clerk/Treasurer at the aforementioned address.
