Nevada State Police names new Parole and Probation Division Chief

Nevada State Police Director Togliatti and Deputy Director Brueggemann have appointed Tamrah Jackson as Chief of the Nevada State Police - Parole and Probation Division. The appointment was effective July 2, and the official promotional ceremony was held in Carson City on Aug. 2.

The position was previously held by Natasha Koch, who retired earlier this year. Jackson's position before the promotion was Major for the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Division in Reno.

"Chief Jackson has worked in multiple divisions and regions with the Department, giving her a diverse background and level of experience. Her leadership is a tremendous asset to the Department and in continuing our commitment to providing the highest level of public safety services to Nevadans," said Togliatti.

Chief Jackson began her law enforcement career with the City of Fallon Police Department in 2005. She joined the Highway Patrol in 2010, assigned to the Lovelock District. Jackson was promoted to Sergeant of the Wells District in 2012, acquiring the added responsibility of Northern Command-East Multi-disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (MIRT).

In 2015, she was promoted to Lieutenant with the Highway Patrol Division, Northern Command-East, serving in operations, administration, MIRT, and the Commercial Vehicles unit. Jackson then transferred to Highway Patrol Southern Command in 2019 and assumed the responsibilities of Las Vegas day shift operations.

In 2021, Jackson was promoted to captain with the Parole and Probation Division, serving in Northern Command and working with rural operations and court services. In September 2022, Jackson was promoted to major of the Highway Patrol – Northern Command region, which was her position until her current appointment as Chief of the Parole and Probation Division.
