Genoa, Nev. — The band of roving crack sealers should be working in Gardnerville on Waterloo to Toler Lane just past Stodick Park today. Douglas County is continuing its slurry seal project through this week, though workers will spend most of the rest of the week in Ruhenstroth.

High Point won’t be quite so high or close to Topaz Lake after work down there is complete. Crews working where the roadway cracked near the edge are cutting a swath through the mountain for the new alignment and there isn’t an estimate available for when they’ll be done.


I’m following up on a tip that there was some sort of pursuit through the Pine Nuts on around 10 a.m. Sunday. I’ve reached out to the Sheriff’s Office to learn more.


A lockout at Minden Elementary School around lunchtime Friday was retracted pretty much as soon as it was issued. According to the Sheriff’s Office and the school district there was no threat to the school.


If you’re planning a drive to Yerington on Tuesday, Highway 339 that bypasses central Mason Valley will be closed while a house is being moved starting 7 a.m. and lasting into the afternoon.


We’re going to be working on the Sept. 6 edition of The R-C early due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday. If you’ve got something for that edition of the paper, get it in by end of business Wednesday. We’re going straight from putting Saturday’s issue to bed to working on the next one.


The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high temperature around 92 degrees today. The zephyr will pick up at 10-15 mph this afternoon.
