With work underway to bring management of Minden-Tahoe Airport back under county control, the Airport Advisory Committee saw eight people apply for four seats.
Douglas County commissioners are scheduled to meet Thursday to make appointments to county boards and commissions.
A majority of the seven-member Airport Advisory Committee is up for appointment and only one of the current members isn’t seeking reappointment.
The committee is divided into categories with representatives from various groups at the airport, including soaring, powered, business and the community at large.
A seat in each of those categories is up for appointment at Thursday’s meeting.
Powered community representative Keith Richter is not seeking reappointment. Current community at large member AJ Ursic has applied for any of the open seats. Business community member Virginia Starrett and Soaring Community Robert Trumbly are seeking reappointment to their seats.
Starrett faces competition from Michael Bradford, Tim Gardner and Peter Reese, all three of whom have applied for any of the categories.
Longtime soaring businesswoman and advocate Linda Mae Hivert is challenging Trumbly for his seat in that category.
Commissioners voted in early November to implement a $400,000 plan to hire a manager and staff for the airport after it was operated by a contractor for 13 years.
