The 85-unit subdivision on 37 acres east of the Gardnerville Ranchos has been delayed a third time, now until to Jan. 9. Neighbors provided public comment for that also at Tuesday’s meeting.
Planning commissioners voted 7-0 to recommend rejections of a plan to ban vacation home rentals north of Cave Rock. The county staff did their best, but no one had anything favorable to say about the ordinance, including the folks distributing a petition to ban all VHRs in residential neighborhoods.
The county’s proposal to fund a new judicial center goes before the Debt Management Commission 9 a.m. today at the historic Douglas County Courthouse, 1616 Eighth St. The county is seeking $37 million as part of the financing.
I’ll follow up on a report of a 10:53 p.m. collision at Kimmerling Road and Verdi Way west of the Gardnerville Ranchos. CareFlight was called to transport a patient.

The sun should show its face around 10 a.m. with skies mostly clear by 1 p.m. While the clouds are keeping us warm at night, they also will keep the high temperature down to around 44 degrees today. A light northerly breeze is expected this afternoon.
