Carson Valley day cares went on lockdown this morning after someone called one of them threatening to injure the children.

Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to several of the day cares in response.

Undersheriff Ron Elges said another call received at 9 a.m. claimed they weren’t following directions and something would happen in another hour.

At that point the specific day care, which The Record-Courier is not naming, was shut down for the day.

“All attempts at locating a suspect have led us to believe it is coming from outside the area via a computer call,” Elges said on Thursday. “We didn’t locate any immediate threats to this daycare or any other daycare. We are still actively patrolling and investigating this incident. There is no threat to the community at this time.”
