Genoa, Nev. — A resolution adopted by the Lyon County School District in the middle of the Critical Race Theory debate officially goes before Douglas County School trustees at their meeting 4 p.m. today at the Airport Training Center, 1126 Airport Road, Building G-1. A proposal to modify the Tahoe Beach Club project to created 48 airspace condos in its second phase goes before planning commissioners 1 p.m. today at the Douglas County Courthouse in Minden. Nevada sports books won $11.2 million on the Kansas City Chiefs 38-35 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. According to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, $153.2 million was wagered at the Silver State’s 185 sports books. The win represented a hold percentage of 7.4 percent, the lowest since the 2019 Super Bowl.


Today is the Super Bowl and Black Friday rolled up into one for Carson Valley florists. Let’s face it folks, if this item reminds you to do something for Valentine’s Day, you’re already running behind.


While there isn’t much snow in the forecast today, there is a lot of wind with gusts of 35-50 mph across the region. Winds will be even stronger on the mountain tops and in windprone areas: Centerville we’re looking at you.


Whatever snow survived Sunday and Monday’s warm sunny weather will get locked down today as the high is expected to barely hit 30 degrees before plunging to 10 tonight. We might see a half inch of new snow, but with the wind that will likely drift deeper in spots.
