Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Lisa Pualuan has joined Carson Valley Medical Center’s senior care practice.
Known as “Lisa P” by her patients, Pualuan has a wide variety of nursing experience and has provided in-home nursing care in Carson Valley for 18 years as a registered nurse case manager. Before working in Carson Valley, Lisa honed her skills as a registered nurse in Renown’s Intensive Care Unit in Reno.
“Working in home care, I’ve witnessed a lot of neglect. I’ve worked with different agencies here in Northern Nevada to help feed, clothe, and heat people,” said Pualuan. “That is what inspired me to become a nurse practitioner and help as much as I can.”
Pualuan has routinely gone the extra mile, buying groceries, dog food, and more for her in-home nursing patients, often at her own expense, according to the center.
She credits her experience and knowledge of the “right” questions to ask.
In her free time, she enjoys reading non-fiction, practicing yoga, and has rescued and placed several cats, including her own.
“Primary care providers are the first person there to help you with whatever issues you are experiencing,” she said. “It is important to me to establish a bond and trust with my patients so we can dig down and discover what their needs are without any feelings of judgment”.
Pualuan is currently accepting patients in family practice in CVMC’s clinic Gardnerville and invites you to join her. For appointments or information, call Carson Valley Medical Center at (775) 783-4823 or visit www.cvmchospital.org.
