The unchanging Word of God

The bible has remained consistent for thousands of years. The writings of Moses, Solomon, David, and the prophets of the Old Testament have endured for all these years. The New Testament has held true for over two thousand years. Many attempts have been made to destroy it, but all have failed. There are many today who want to reinterpret what it says to fit the culture and somehow weaken its message. Many will only accept what they like and reject what they don’t like. It is very similar to how a butcher will prepare a piece of meat. He will remove the parts that are hard to chew, hard to digest, hard to swallow, or the parts that don’t taste good. Simply put, the parts they don’t like are discarded.

Let’s take a look at just a few scriptures that testify about the unchanging Word of God.

Psalm 117:2 For His merciful kindness is great toward us, And the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!

Psalm 119:160 The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.

2 Timothy 4 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

I Peter 1:22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, 24 because

“All flesh is as grass,

And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.

The grass withers,

And its flower falls away,

25 But the word of the Lord endures forever.”

Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

I see another area of danger that we in America and in other developed countries of the world have embraced. We have lost our fear of God!!! It is obvious, because if we feared Him we would not play games with His Word. I can’t speak for others but only for myself. I am afraid to twist or manipulate the Word to fit my own desires.

2 Peter 3:16

as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

Revelation 22:18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Psalm 111:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

We are living in days where it is hard to know what to believe. There are so many ideas, philosophies, teachings and the like that come and go, I leave you with this.

Malachi 3:6“For I am the Lord, I do not change. Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

May we rejoice in His everlasting mercy, and the power of His unchanging Word.
