Douglas County Public Works, in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), hereby gives notice of the County’s intent to revise the flood hazard information, generally located between Rocking Horse Road and US Highway 395. Specifically, the flood hazard information will be revised along Smelter Creek from US Highway 395 to a point approximately 13,250 feet upstream. In addition, flood hazard information will be revised along Smelter Creek Tributary from the confluence with Smelter Creek to approximately 1,900 feet upstream.
As a result of the revision, the 1-percent-annual-chance and Zone X (shaded) water-surface elevations shall increase and decrease or be established, and the 1-percent-annual-chance and Zone X (shaded) floodplain will widen and narrow or be established within the area of revision.
