Physiatrist joins Carson Valley Medical Center

Physiatrist Dr. Robin Tomita is bringing his more than 20 years expertise in non-operative management of spine pain, with nerve disorders management to Carson Valley Medical Center’s Ironwood Specialty Care location.

Tomita is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and electrodiagnostic medicine.

He regularly treats disorders and injuries affecting the bones, brain, joints, ligaments, muscles, nerves, spinal cord, and tendons.  

He has cared for patients in Gardnerville, Carson City, South Lake Tahoe, Incline Village, Reno, and Dayton during that time and offers conservative spine care, electrodiagnosis, and in-office trigger point injections.

“I am looking forward to contributing to the success of CVMC’s Ironwood Specialty Care Clinic,” he said. “I enjoy the close teamwork and camaraderie amongst the various providers and ancillary staff. It is a very pleasant environment to work in and be a part of. I believe that helps greatly with optimizing patient care and outcomes.”

He was previously associated with Tahoe Fracture and Orthopedic Medical Clinic for 22 years and joined them straight out of his residency training program at the Ohio State University.

“I have really valued the close relationships with my patients and their family,” he said. “I have always strived to help them understand their condition and how to best manage their own care moving forward. My goal is to help maximize their function and quality of life. “

In his free time, Tomita enjoys spending time traveling with his family aboard Disney Cruises and to Disney Parks.

He is currently accepting new patients and will see any previous patients.
