Douglas High School’s Army JROTC class conducted a food drive in front of the Smith’s on Saturday just before the weather hit on Saturday.

“Due to the generosity of Carson Valley Smith's shoppers today, the DHS JROTC battalion was able to raise 1,200 pounds of donated food and $370 in monetary donations for the Carson Valley Community Food Closet,” said Advisor retired Col. Michael Glynn.

The Tiger Battalion was founded in November 2007 and is celebrating its 16th anniversary next fall.
