Genoa, Nev. — The Town of Minden plans to wrap up paving today that turned it into sort of a maze on Monday. They’re repaving the spots that were dug up during last year’s waterline replacement.
Over in Gardnerville, Mission Street was being dug up on Monday to install the outlet for the basin under the parking lot at Gardnerville Station in preparation for the state’s repaving of Main Street.
The Chateau in Gardnerville was named one of the best assisted living facilities in Nevada by U.S. News & World Report. The ranking is based on a survey of 83 responses.
As of this morning, Minden is at 13.93 inches of precipitation since Jan. 1, which is 2.8 times the average of 4.92 inches. It’s still 1.64 inches short of 2017’s 15.57 inches for March 9.
Comparing the 2016-17 water year with 2022-23 puts this year within .68 inches of the record with 20.36 inches since Oct. 1, 2022. That record seems a little more fragile with five months left until Sept. 30, though they are typically pretty dry.
There’s a slight possibility of showers today as the snow level drops to 5,200 feet before it rises to 6,900 feet this afternoon. The north winds shifts west at 5-10 mph this afternoon.
