NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
GREAT BASIN UNIFIED AIR POLLUTION CONTROL
DISTRICT CONSIDERATION OF REQUEST FOR
RESIDENTIAL BURNING EXEMPTIONS
The Governing Board of the Great Basin Unified Air Pollution Control
District will conduct a public hearing to consider approval of a Request
for Exemption to the California Air Resources Board to renew outdoor
residential waste burning exemptions that allow for the use of burn
barrels and burning of paper and cardboard within eligible areas of
Inyo, Mono and Alpine counties in accordance with provisions of the
Airborne Toxic Control Measure to Reduce Emissions from Outdoor
Residential Waste Burning (California Code of Regulations, Title 17,
Section 93113).
The public hearing will be conducted at a regular meeting of the District
Governing Board to be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 6, 2023,
at the Alpine County Administrative Center located at 99 Water Street
(State Hwy 89) in Markleeville, California 96120. The public may also
attend remotely via teleconference. The link and call-in information
for remote attendance will be made available on the District’s website
www.gbuapcd.org at least 72 hours before the meeting. The proposed
request will be decided upon at this meeting. Written comments
received by 5:00 pm on June 11, 2023, will be included in the staff
report. Verbal and written comments will also be taken at the meeting.
