Foster earns first team all-league selection

Douglas High School grad Gabe Foster was selected as a first team all-league utility player following his sophomore season at Butte Community College.

The honor comes from the NorCal Conference where Foster earned recognition alongside several teammates after Butte’s football team went 8-2 in the regular season.

In eight games played, Foster recorded 10.5 sacks at linebacker along with 34 total tackles.

His 10.5 sacks leads the California Community College Athletic Association this season.

The 2022 DHS grad also had two interceptions, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery this fall.

Against Modesto Junior College, Foster recorded a pick-6 moments into the contest, hauling the interception 40 yards.


Larkin staple in George Mason volleyball lineup

Carson High grad Cami Larkin has started all 30 contests for George Mason volleyball this season.

The 2021 CHS grad has played 115 sets, which is tied for the team lead.

On the floor, Larkin has 193 kills and is tied for second on the team in total blocks with 77.

Larkin’s .391 hitting percentage is the best in the Atlantic 10 Conference and her block total ranks her inside the conference’s top 10 as well.

George Mason is 9-21 this season.


Bertolone starting with UC Irvine volleyball

Anna Bertolone, a 2021 Douglas High grad, has appeared in 98 of 100 sets played this season for UC Irvine.

Bertolone is second on the team in kills with 225 to go along with 23 blocks and 179 digs.

UC Irvine has a 9-18 overall record this fall.

Allen playing semi-pro hoops overseas

Carson High grad Tez Allen signed with the Hemel Storm semi-professional team out of Watford, United Kingdom in September.

The Storm compete in the NBL Division I, which is the second tier of the British basketball system.

The former Senator joins the Storm after five years at Southern Oregon.

Allen sat out his freshman year (2017-18) to redshirt, was named the Cascade Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2021 and made the all-conference team in his final season.

All four years Allen was playing at Southern Oregon, he earned academic all-conference honors as well.


Carter completes senior season with a bang

A 2018 Carson High graduate, Abel Carter is finishing up his senior season at Abilene Christian.

Carter rushed for 1,017 yards and five touchdowns as the team’s leading running back and also caught a touchdown.


Coverley finishing senior season at Sioux Falls

Douglas High grad Molly Coverley is wrapping up her college soccer career this fall, appearing in all 17 games for the University of Sioux Falls in South Dakota.

Coverley, who plays in the midfield, has tallied 466 minutes in total on the pitch as a senior.


Sando wraps up first season at Cal State East Bay

After three seasons playing soccer at William Jessup, Douglas High grad Tess Sando finished her first season at Cal State East Bay this fall.

Sando appeared in 11 contests as a defender, tallying 467 minutes.
