Genoa, Nev. — Registration for this morning’s Turkey Trot is 7:30-8:30 a.m., with packet pickup until 8:45 a.m. The main event at Minden Park starts at 9 a.m. There were just over 500 runners signed up on Wednesday morning.
Raley’s and Smith’s will be handling last-minute Thanksgiving shopping today. Smith’s reports it will be open until 2 p.m. while the Raley’s will stick around until 3 p.m. Neither of the WalMarts, nor Grocery Outlet will be open today.
Ebbetts and Sonora passes opened on Wednesday, and Monitor has been open since the weekend. There’s some white stuff on Mt. Rose Highway, but no controls on any Tahoe roads, according to nvroads.com
The call on Pulse Point regarding a structure fire reported in 900 block around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday was a test page. There was no fire.
There’s .27 inches of rain in my gauge a mile north of Genoa this morning and a little bit of cloud cover. It appears that happened right around 4 a.m. The Weather Service precipitation is down, so I don’t have anything for the rest of the Valley.
Today’s forecast is for scattered showers before 10 a.m. then a slight chance of rain and snow showers after 4 p.m. The snow level drops to 6,300 feet in the afternoon, with the high climbing to 48 degrees
