Genoa, Nev. — Members of the Airport Advisory Committee voted 7-0 against recommending a five-year $5 million contract to manage Minden-Tahoe Airport on Monday night. County commissioners have the final say, should the contractor decide to move forward.
Douglas County School Board trustees are scheduled to take up a long list of policies designed to clamp down on the school district’s administrators and principals at the least and perhaps extending on down the line, depending on how you read the policy. They meet 4 p.m. today in the Douglas High School Media Center.
Planning commissioners have a lot on their plates with fairly large projects proposed for Minden and the Gardnerville Ranchos. The Ranchos project carries with it 85 lots, while Monte Vista in Minden is seeking a recommendation for approval of 116 townhomes.
Between those two discussions both on the agenda and geographically, will be moving the Carson Valley Inn’s sign from one side to the other of the hotel-casino. It sounds like there’s a plan for that lot on the west side of the Inn. They meet 1 p.m. in the Douglas County Courthouse.
A driver in a head-on lunchtime collision on Centerville Lane just north of Lutheran Bridge was reportedly severely injured. I received a photo from Saturday’s collision at Lampe Drive and Main Street where a truck was knocked over on its side.
Expect sunny skies with the usual cloudiness from possible thunderstorms off to the east. The high today is expected to be around 83 degrees with the wind 5 mph out of the west in the afternoon.
