Genoa, Nev. — An in-person open house on the U.S. 395 Southern Sierra Corridor Study is 4-7 p.m. today at the Douglas County Community and Senior Center located at 1329 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville. They’re doing it again at Fuji Park at the same times on Wednesday.
A Q&A session with commissioner Mark Gardner and challenger Mike Tanner starts at noon today with Gardner first up at the COD Casino in Minden. Admission is a fiver for the room and beverages.

With the cloud cover, it didn’t cool off much last night with Minden-Tahoe Airport reading 48 degrees at 6:15 a.m. The thermometer at Genoa showed 62 degrees at 12:40 a.m.
Those warm temperatures contributed to the West Fork at Woodfords rising to 13.02 feet at 10:25 p.m. Monday. Minor flood stage is 13.5 feet. The East Fork entering Carson Valley remains well below the 13 foot action stage, cresting at 11.9 feet at 2:20 a.m. today.
The warm weather might generate some thunderstorms after 2 p.m. today. It is forecast to otherwise be mostly sunny with a high temperature of 73 degrees with the wind 5-10 mph out of the west.
