Dare to Be a Cowboy and Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park are hosting a Wild West Adventure Day 10 a.m. to noon Thursday.
“Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park offers a glimpse into the rich history of ranching in the region,” organizers said. “This event aims to bring that history to life for children ages 5-13, providing an interactive and educational experience unlike any other.”
From learning about hay and irrigation to getting up close with horses and tack, each station offers a hands-on experience.
In addition to the interactive stations, participants may explore the historic ranch, where they can discover stories and traditions that have shaped the region’s heritage. Each child earns a souvenir cowboy hat and bandana for completing all the stations.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park to bring this event to life,” said Dare to Be a Cowboy founder Hannah-Beth Tems. “It’s an opportunity for children and families to engage with the contemporary and historic ranching culture of our community.”
Registration for Wild West Adventure Day starts at $15 per child, with a discounted rate of $20 for two children, $28 for 3 children and $33 for 4 children. All children must be accompanied by an adult or guardian, who enters at no charge. The first 50 children will each receive a goody bag with treats and surprises. Families seeking financial assistance to attend are encouraged to contact Education Specialist Sierra Meszaros at education@dangberg.org.
